The MatheMagics curriculum provides an interactive learning format that infuses students' daily mathematics instruction with popular culture to engage students. The MatheMagics pedagogy is embedded through four pillars of popular culture: technology, the Internet, Mass Media, and Social Media. This innovative approach provides stimulating activities to engage students, while mathematical concepts scaffold to bridge the gap between mathematical concepts and students daily lives.

MatheMagics began in a high school mathematics classroom, in a small town in Georgia, Kelly Clark, a mathematics teacher, was tired of her student’s lack of interest in traditional mathematics instruction. To engage her students, Kelly began incorporating pop culture references through videos, pictures, and celebrities to reach her students. From these references her students stopped learning mathematics and began learning Mathemagics!

Students are at the heart of the Mathemagics program, and Kelly's students and colleagues love the Mathemagics approach!
